I just purchase one of your 67 Chevelle cowl induction hoods. It looks great, sheet metal work is perfect. My question is what type of coating does it have on it? Gonna paint it and need to know what\'s compatible. Thanks
Answer: January 25, 2026

Hi Dave,

Almost all sheet metal parts are coated with a thin coat of a manufacturer primer used to keep sheet metal from rusting during storage and transport. You will have to primer on top of it with the primer you would normally choose on sheet metal.
